Billed as “The Race of Dreams”, the road race is shaped around getting as many riders as possible to ride their personal best over the two distances on offer.

The road races start at 06h15 (98km) and 07h50 (45km) respectively on Sunday.

The Sunday offering includes the ever-popular East Rand Kids Classic, which caters for youngsters aged 0-6 and 6-10.

The 98km East Rand Classic is an Official Premier Seeding Event of the 2021 Cape Town
Cycle Tour.

The MTB event kicks off at 08h00 on Saturday and consists of a 25km track which riders complete either once or twice. Click here to view the Route Profile & Map

Riders will once again get to experience the excitement of riding in the shadow of the aircraft on the grounds of OR Tambo International Airport.

It’s urban mountain biking at its best and it’s so close and easily accessible for riders from all over Gauteng.

There is just one technical drop-off on the 25km track where riders have the option to either take the dive or use the chicken run on the side.

The track is essentially made up of three sections. The first bit is through a forest, then round the dam and suburbs, and finally a seven-kilometre flat section right next to the runway – all interlinked by pavement rides.

The tree section is absolute bliss. It consists of 6km of winding forest with more than enough room to overtake and slightly downhill – so it’s nice and fast!
